Grumpy Cat

Tiredness, Pain, Unhappiness and Grief can skew, the way the world is to you. They dint and warp, they curve and bend, they blur and completely distort, the Truth becomes fiction and the fiction becomes true. Keeping an even keel, transforming your life seems unattainable when here, especially when all you can do, with all of your might, is take the next step or two.

My grumpy cat transcends all of this, with fear and pain blown away, Although outwardly he looks angry and mad…He’s really filled with Love, tenderness and care. He caresses those he loves with head butts and rubs, he gently nips an occasional limb, then licks to make sure your alright.

He attends to his needs with an incessant meow, to make sure there’s food in the bowl. The water he waits quietly atop, on the bench knowing it will magically appear without a noise. The sleep is a necessity that he acquires in abundance, resting wherever his belly goes flop. The magpies and birds warily hop around, he mutters and and flips his tail, if only he were more agile.

So my Grumpy cat paves the way, forget the tiredness and pain. Live in the moment, flop where you will, and nurture your needs for it’s true. If you no longer can go on, there are many who will miss all that you are and our world will be all the more poor.

The painting is a work in progress of my cat Stitch.
