18

My son is 18, I thought I would share my celebration…

In his words “It’s been an interesting 18 years!”

And so it has. Here are some words to express how I feel…and some photos of the time we have grown together.

The world is a suprise, it’s not what you expect,

You struggle and feel your way, not knowing how to react

My heart swells overjoyed, protection ensues.

No one is hurting you…I fail yet stay strong.

You rise and fall, you strive, you fly so high,

You chatter and the happiness within your soul overflows.

My heart swells all the more for the Love that connects

Traits of ancestors peek through but you are truly your own person.

I am so proud and delighted to share this life of mine with you.

I let you go to make your way, but I am always here

To listen, to talk to help and to simply be.

18 is an “adult” there is much yet to learn,

I know because I to am still learning as I grow old.

Blessings, little one who has grown high as a tree,

You’re brilliant, blessed, delightfully witty and fun.
