Sacred contracts are energetic contracts that were agreed to prior to the arrival upon the earth. Each contract stipulated the unique experience that would be offered to another, allowing each person to live through a set of circumstances that enhanced the understanding of the human experience for all.
This means that each person is connected to every other person in ways that they cannot understand, because upon birth the memories of the contracts are wiped. It is simply the energy of the contract that continues to exert its presence and form the relationships that will support fulfilling those contracts.
The energy of another that loves and supports us the most, is often that which creates the most crisis, discomfort and pain in our lives. After our death we return to the place of Love, where the highs and lows of emotion are but memories to be explored, but exist only within the framework of Love. Returning to this place we are simply embraced without judgement, without explanation required for our actions upon earth.
This is what I have come to understand as the premise for sacred contracts. What I have experienced is that sometimes the energy of sacred contracts stays, even though the contract is fulfilled. Perhaps this is because the energy is so familiar and those involved don’t know how to move into the new energy that is available, they hold on to the hurts. Many healers are working in releasing the contracts, through Reiki, visualizations and shamanic work, involving re-writing contracts or destroying them once they are signed off by a higher power. When I have worked with someone who is in this space of having a now obsolete contract, I have simply explained my insights into the contract and that it is now complete, they can move on.
The hardest part of the thought of Sacred contracts is when it involves someone you Love experiencing the depths of a crisis for you to rise above and grow. I would never choose to put someone I Love through this, so it is difficult to accept that this was a contract we made prior to existence on earth. However to accept the Love that flows from one human to another, knowing that the crisis is what has brought you even closer together is truly a gift, and one I do not begrudge.
There is no person that can say these contracts are real. But I find they provide a fresh perspective of examining relationships in my life and creating more powerful stories that support my growth and understanding of another’s perspective. When you can shift your perspective even a few degrees you lift the blocks that hold you in negative spaces, freeing you to explore the many varied possibilities and potentials that exist for your life’s journey.
The easiest way to explore the sacred contracts in your own life is to ask questions of your higher self. That knowing part of you that doesn’t buy into fear, it only sees the expansive potential that awaits for you. I believe everyone can do this in their own unique way. Work on this relationship within you and allow the universe to support you. It is your greatest cheer squad.
Ask if you have any sacred contracts that have been fulfilled. Wait in the quiet for an answer, ask for a sign, or ask if it is between specific people, allow your imagination to create a movie, or scene in which you can view, or feel the energy. Offer the situation love and ask that it be dissolved if it no longer serves your highest good. Replay the movie or scene, allow it to change, sense small differences and watch as it unfolds in new ways. If the outcome is not what is needed, change the path and keep replaying until you feel the energy is supportive of all involved and the contract is dissolved.
This does not mean that relationships in your life will dissolve, it means that they are able to become closer to the pure energy of Love by choice. Sometimes it may mean moving apart, but other times it will strengthen the bonds between you, for the shared experience allows you to choose to be connected with that person, rather than it being enforced by the energy of the sacred contract.
The least this type of work will do is change your perspective of your relationship with others. It is by changing ourselves that we can bring about the greatest change in others. I have seen this happen time and time again. We cannot change another, but through a change in ourselves we shift the energy and allow the possibility for new interactions to take place.
